One of the most thrilling aspects of the IPMI Awards of Excellence program is that the submissions all share a key attribute: each is a testament to the passion, integrity, and imagination of those whose professions intersect in a meaningful way with the parking and mobility community.
IPMI’s Professional Recognition Program has become the gold standard for recognizing professionals and organizations who operate, maintain, and manage parking and mobility operations at extraordinary levels.
Volunteer Awards
IPMI recognized those individuals who have had tremendous impacts on the parking, transportation, and mobility industry with two primary awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Chair Award.
The IPMI Board of Directors’ executive officers select both the Chair Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, honoring the achievements of volunteer leaders in the IPMI community.
The IPMI Chair Award recognizes individuals who positively impact the parking, transportation, and mobility industry. These individuals and their accomplishments will leave long-lasting effects that better communities and move the industry forward.
The IPMI Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed upon active or retired IPMI senior members in the parking, transportation, and mobility industry with a minimum of 20 years of service. They must show: evidence of exemplary leadership as a parking, transportation, or mobility leader through administrative roles held, accomplishments in those roles, and recognition by colleagues and others for significant contributions to the industry; a record of service, leadership, and outstanding achievements as a member of IPMI and affiliated organizations; participation on boards, committees, task forces, publications, and presentations, or general support of the association’s activities.
The Awards of Excellence program is open to both members and non-members; members in good standing receive significant discounts on
entry fees. Organizations may re-submit previous entries if the submission meets the eligibility time frame Only complete entries are submitted
for evaluation, including entry fees, cost information, and photography credits.
Professional Recognition Awards recognize the individual contributions of parking, transportation, and mobility industry professionals—our industry’s
best. Entries may be self- or peer-nominated. Nominees must be IPMI members in good standing, and there is no fee to submit a nomination.

• James M. Hunnicutt, CAPP, Industry Professional of the Year

• Professional Excellence Awards in specific areas of job responsibilities
Submissions are evaluated and ranked by the IPMI Awards of Excellence and Professional Recognition Program judges. Our
volunteer judges are fielded from professionals in the parking, transportation, and mobility industry from every sector, bringing a wealth
of experience and diverse perspectives to the evaluation process.
Awards programs open mid-Fall with a due date prior to the end of the calendar year. Judging takes place over a short period during the winter and into the new year.
Award hopefuls receive notification early in the year with plenty of time to register for the Annual IPMI Parking & Mobility Conference & Expo.
