The City of Pittsburg, Kan., will soon have the results of a new parking study, but it’s not your average parking study. This one’s being done by MBA students at Pittsburg State University, and some say that gives it a little bit of an edge.
The students conducted an online survey about downtown parking with business owners and the followed up a semester later with in-person interviews and looking at parking firsthand. The assistant city manager says he’s thrilled-the city will benefit from fresh sets of eyes and, he says, business owners have been forthcoming and honest with students because they’re perceived as being completely unbiased.
A third survey will be done in the fall-this one of other university students to get their input on town parking. Read the whole story here.
